Growing up, I watched my father, John Parwaz Gill, a devoted catechist, dedicate his entire life to helping others. He believed that every life mattered and that true strength came from service, discipline, and empathy. The values he instilled in me compassion, integrity, and perseverance became the guiding principles for everything we do today. Having faced displacement and the harsh realities of being refugees, I understood firsthand the pain of losing one’s home, the fear of uncertainty, and the isolation that comes with being forced to start over. These experiences shaped the vision of the John Prawas Foundation: to provide not just aid, but dignity, hope, and empowerment to those who need it most.
How we Started
The John Prawas Foundation began as a natural extension of my father’s life work. His commitment to serving the community, his unwavering faith, and his disciplined life were a constant inspiration. After facing the challenges of displacement, I realized that the values my father lived by could be transformed into a foundation that helps countless others. What began as a small effort to assist refugees and vulnerable communities has grown into a full-fledged organization, reaching out to those in Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan. Every program we run, every life we touch, carries the imprint of my father’s teachings his belief in service, compassion, and integrity. This foundation is more than a mission; it is a living tribute to a life dedicated to helping others. Through it, we strive to bring hope, dignity, and opportunity to those who have lost everything, proving that even in the darkest times, compassion and humanity endure.

The mission of JP Foundation is to stand beside every refugee and vulnerable community member with compassion, respect, and sincere human care. Our purpose is to reach people at the most difficult moments of their lives and support them with practical help that creates real change. We work to provide food, shelter, medical assistance, education, and resettlement support to families who have lost everything due to conflict, persecution, or displacement. At JP Foundation, we believe that every human being deserves dignity and safety, no matter where they come from or what challenges they face. Our mission is to restore hope by responding quickly to the needs of individuals who are struggling for survival.
